About Forrest Michael

Forrest Michael Pasanski has spent his career crossing the boundary between government enforcement and private practice. He trained as a lawyer and then moved into roles that put him on the front lines of professional licensing and regulatory matters. The path has been steady and practical.

He earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2008. That academic foundation preceded work in the Michigan legal community and prepared him for both administrative work and courtroom tasks. His legal education remains a reference point for the regulatory work he later undertook.

Pasanski served in state government, culminating in a leadership role in 2017. That year he was the Enforcement Division Director at the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs’ Bureau of Professional Licensing. In that post he managed enforcement programs tied to professional licensure. The position required coordinating investigations, setting enforcement priorities and working with administrative hearings — core elements of state regulatory practice.

Before and after his tenure in that role, he built experience in matters that touch on licensing, compliance and discipline. He handled cases that arose from oversight of licensed professionals and worked alongside regulators, licensees and administrative law judges. Those experiences gave him practical insight into how licensing systems operate and how enforcement decisions are made.

Following public service he moved into private practice. He established Pasanski Law, PLLC and began representing clients on matters that draw on his earlier government work. In private practice he applies knowledge of agency procedures and enforcement mechanics to help clients address investigations, respond to complaints and pursue licensing objectives.

Colleagues and clients see him as someone who understands both sides of the licensing process. He knows how regulators think and how licensees must respond under pressure. That perspective informs his case strategy and client counseling.

Pasanski is licensed in Michigan and continues to work in the state where he studied and served in government. He now practices at Pasanski Law, PLLC, handling professional licensing and regulatory matters.
