About Flavio Van

Flavio Van Boekel began his academic path in cultural studies at the State University of New York - Empire State College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2004. He then turned to the study of law and received a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2009. His education combined an interest in social context with formal legal training, a mix that informed his early entry into practice.

After law school he entered private practice. In 2011 he worked as an associate lawyer at Gill & Chamas, LLC, where he handled a range of matters typical for an associate at a small firm. His responsibilities included drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery, and appearing in court on behalf of clients. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and deliberate in courtroom presentation.

Van Boekel is licensed in New Jersey and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in state courts as well as in federal matters that reach the nation's highest tribunal. Admission to the Supreme Court bar is a procedural milestone; it reflects a lawyer’s eligibility to file pleadings there when circumstances warrant.

Over the years he has worked on matters that required navigating both state practice rules and federal procedures. He has experience in managing litigation from intake through motion practice and trial preparation. That work has exposed him to the practical demands of case management, client counseling and negotiating resolutions under pressure.

Outside the courtroom he has been involved in the routine demands of running a practice: client intake, case strategy meetings, and coordination with experts and vendors. Those tasks often shape how a lawyer balances short-term deadlines with long-term case goals. He brings that practical perspective to each file he handles.

As of 2026 Van Boekel practices in New Jersey, representing clients in matters pursued in state and federal courts. He continues to apply his combined academic background and courtroom experience to the cases he accepts.
