About Allison Kruk
Allison Kruk Ormond trained at two Ivy League schools. She earned her undergraduate degree at Princeton University and completed her law degree at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Those years set the course for a practice split between family matters and criminal defense.
She began her legal work in public defense. In 2020 she served as a law clerk in the Office of the Public Defender of New Jersey. The experience offered courtroom exposure and case preparation work early in her career. The following year she joined the Defenders Association of Philadelphia in the Probation and Alternative Sentencing Unit, where she handled matters tied to sentencing alternatives and supervised release issues.
Ormond moved into private practice after those public defender roles. In 2022 she worked as a family law lawyer at William Kirby Law, taking on custody, support, and related domestic matters. In 2023 she joined Jones & Ortiz and split her time between family and criminal cases. Those positions added civil litigation and client advocacy in both bench and jury contexts.
In 2024 she took on the title of Managing Lawyer at Ormond Law. In that role she oversees casework and day-to-day operations while continuing to appear in court. The managing position has her juggling client intake, courtroom calendars, and coordination with investigators and experts when cases require them.
Outside the courtroom she holds a Court Appointed Special Advocate certification from the National CASA/GAL Association for Children. That qualification ties into much of her family law practice, particularly in contested custody and dependency matters. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar.
Her approach to clients is practical and straightforward. She draws on early public defender work when handling criminal defense, and on her family law practice when addressing child welfare or support issues. The mix of public and private sector experience informs how she assesses plea offers, settlement possibilities, and trial preparation.
She practices from Ormond Law and handles both courtroom work and client counseling. Her current practice at Ormond Law centers on family law and criminal defense.
