About Ferris J.
Ferris J. Barger built a career that crosses two distinct professions. He trained at the laboratory bench and later argued matters in court. The combination shapes how he approaches problems: methodical, evidence-driven and rooted in technical understanding.
Barger earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma before completing a J.D. at Oklahoma City University. Those two degrees anchor his career. The science degree gave him familiarity with laboratory practice and infectious disease testing. The law degree provided a route into litigation and regulatory work.
His early career includes service in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. In 1990 he served in the Medical Service Corps. A decade later he moved into public health work as Mycobacteriology/Mycology Supervisor at the Oklahoma State Department of Health. That role involved oversight of laboratory operations and the testing disciplines associated with mycobacterial and fungal organisms.
Barger later entered private practice. In 2010 he worked as a lawyer at Pritchett & Snyder. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Today he practices at Pizzini Law Office, where he continues to apply both legal training and scientific experience to client matters.
Colleagues describe his background as an asset when cases raise technical or scientific questions. His experience supervising clinical laboratory work gives him familiarity with protocols, documentation and expert testimony. That background can help in reviewing records, preparing cross-examination or assessing the strength of technical opinions.
He has moved between public service and private practice several times, which has left him comfortable in regulatory settings as well as in adversarial forums. The path from microbiology to law is not common, and it gives him a particular lens for disputes that touch on public health, laboratory practice or medical testing.
Barger maintains an active practice in Oklahoma and represents clients in matters that reach the Tenth Circuit. He currently works from Pizzini Law Office and handles matters in state courts and before the federal appellate court.
