About Farbod
Farbod Farnia practices law in Texas and has been associated with McCathern, PLLC since 2015. He brings a background in liberal arts and formal trial advocacy to his legal work. He moved from an undergraduate study of literature into law and has applied those communication skills to client matters over the years.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. He later attended SMU Dedman School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2011. The combination of a humanities education and law school shaped his approach to legal writing and analysis.
During law school he was a member of the Order of Barristers, an organization that recognizes courtroom advocacy and moot court performance. That experience informed his interest in oral argument and drafted advocacy. After graduation he established local ties in the Dallas legal community and began participating in professional organizations that kept him engaged with practice developments.
In 2015 he joined McCathern, PLLC as Of Counsel. In that role he has served on matters handled by the firm and provided counsel to clients out of the firm’s office. His position as Of Counsel has allowed him to balance casework, research, and client communication while collaborating with other lawyers at the firm.
Farnia’s background in English and his training with the Order of Barristers shape how he approaches disputes and client files. He tends to emphasize clear written work and structured argument. He has applied those skills to briefing, motions, and client advisals, working to present positions concisely and to anticipate opposing points.
He maintains memberships in the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, which keep him connected to local practitioners and developments in Texas law. Those affiliations provide avenues for continuing legal education and professional networking.
