About Faraji A.
Faraji A. Rosenthall earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004, where he studied criminal law. He began his academic journey at Hampton University, graduating in 1995 with a B.S. in marketing. Those classroom years set the stage for a career that has moved between public service and private practice.
Rosenthall entered public service soon after law school. In 2005 he joined the Office of the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney as a prosecutor. He handled cases at the county level during a time when local prosecutors were under growing scrutiny. The courtroom work gave him direct exposure to criminal procedure and trial practice.
After several years in the prosecutor’s office, Rosenthall opened his own practice in 2009. The Law Office of Faraji A. Rosenthall allowed him to take on a wider range of matters and to represent clients outside the constraints of a government role. Running a solo office required juggling litigation, client development and case management. It also shaped how he approaches strategy and client communication.
In 2023 Rosenthall joined McClain Rosenthall Law as a partner. The move formalized a collaborative phase of his career and expanded the scope of cases he handles. He maintains offices under the McClain Rosenthall Law name. Those offices serve as the base for both trial work and consultations.
Throughout his career Rosenthall has maintained active membership in the Virginia State Bar. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and continues to appear in state courts. His background combines prosecutorial experience and years in private practice, which informs how he assesses cases and prepares for litigation.
Colleagues and clients describe him as steady in court and pragmatic at the negotiation table. He draws on trial experience when evaluating evidence and on solo-practice experience when managing client expectations. Rosenthall balances courtroom work with the administrative demands of running and partnering in a law firm.
He practices law in Virginia and remains engaged in matters that require trial experience and criminal law knowledge. His current practice focuses on cases handled through McClain Rosenthall Law.
