About Farah
Farah Kamal built a career that crosses health sciences and the law. She began her academic path in radiology, earning an A.A. from College of DuPage in 1995 and a B.S. in Radiologic Sciences from Midwestern State University in 2003. She then shifted into law and received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2006.
Her earliest legal experience came during law school. In 2006 she interned for the Honorable Eva Guzman and the Honorable Jeff Bohm. Those placements exposed her to courtroom procedures and judicial decision-making at close range. After graduation she moved into private practice and, in 2009, opened Kamal Law Office, PLLC, where she serves as owner and attorney. She holds certification as a mediator and lists that among her professional qualifications.
Kamal is admitted to practice in Texas and before the Texas Bankruptcy Court, and she is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Memberships in bar and professional groups have been a steady part of her career. She joined the State Bar of Texas in 2009 and has been involved in local bar associations since then. She has been a member of the Fort Bend County Bar Association since 2014 and the Fort Bend Family Bar Association since 2017.
Her involvement extends beyond membership. She has served on the board of the Muslim Bar Association of Houston since 2018 and on the board of the Fort Bend Women’s Center since 2019. She was a fellow in The George Foundation’s Excellence for Non-Profit Leadership Program from 2020 to 2021. She is also on the roster of volunteers for Fort Bend Lawyers Cares.
Kamal has maintained ties to younger lawyer groups in the past, including the Houston Young Lawyers Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association during 2009–2010. Professionally she has been associated with the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2011, both at the national level and in the Texas chapter, reflecting ongoing engagement with immigration issues among her peers.
At Kamal Law Office, PLLC she manages the office’s work and its caseload. She combines courtroom experience, mediation credentials, and active participation in local and specialty bar groups. Her current practice handles matters in Texas courts, before the Texas Bankruptcy Court, and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and includes mediation services as part of the office's offerings.
