About Evan K.

Evan K. Buchberger studied political science as an undergraduate and later trained in law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester in 2008 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2012. Those years framed his early direction toward practice in New England.

He began his legal career shortly after law school, working as a contract lawyer for J. William Gagne and Associates, P.C. in 2012. That position gave him an entry into firm practice and the day-to-day work of managing client matters and assisting on cases. In 2013 he joined The Day Law Office, LLC as an associate attorney, a role he held before moving on in 2015 to the Raymond Law Group as an associate.

Across those early positions he built experience in firm settings and the routines of client representation. Records show he took on successive associate roles that relied on drafting, courtroom filings, case preparation and collaboration with senior lawyers. In 2020 he moved to Sweeney Merrigan Law as an associate, where he remains on the firm roster.

Buchberger is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. He keeps active ties to professional groups; he is a current member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers and belongs to the Connecticut State Bar. Those memberships indicate ongoing participation in the state bar communities and access to continuing legal education and peer networks.

Colleagues describe his path as steady and conventional: law school, early contract work, then multi-year associate stints that culminated in his role at Sweeney Merrigan Law. He has worked in small and mid-sized firm environments. Those settings often require attorneys to shift roles between research, client counseling, pleadings and court appearances, and his career reflects that variety.

He has practiced in both states' courts and remains licensed in the two jurisdictions. Public records show a consistent trajectory rather than dramatic pivots. His memberships in trial and bar organizations suggest ongoing interest in litigation practice and professional development.

At present, Buchberger serves as an associate at Sweeney Merrigan Law and maintains his Massachusetts and Connecticut licenses. He continues to practice law across those jurisdictions and to participate in bar and trial lawyer activities.
