About Evan
Evan Chadwick studied social sciences at Keene State College, where he completed his B.A. His undergraduate studies laid a foundation for a career that would center on practical skills and courtroom work.
He practices in Vermont and holds membership in the Vermont State Bar. Chadwick has built his practice through work at Chadwick & Spensley PLLC, where he serves as a lawyer. Over time he has developed particular knowledge in matters that intersect with impaired driving, roadside evaluations, and the technical aspects of DUI investigation.
Part of that expertise comes from specialized training. Chadwick is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as a Field Sobriety and DUI Investigation Practitioner and Instructor. That certification qualifies him to teach standardized field sobriety testing and to address procedural and observational issues that arise during DUI stops. It also informs how he evaluates evidence and cross-examines technical testimony in court.
Colleagues and clients have noted his clear approach to technical subjects. He explains procedural steps and evidentiary questions in direct terms. He also engages with the practical aspects of cases, such as test administration and the chain of custody for chemical tests. Those skills are often central in cases where the accuracy of roadside observations and laboratory results is disputed.
Chadwick splits his time among multiple offices in Vermont. He maintains offices in Pittsford, Brattleboro, and Randolph. That geographic spread allows him to work on cases across the state and to meet with clients in different communities.
Outside of his classroom and courtroom work, Chadwick remains active in state bar activities and local legal circles. He continues to teach instructors and practitioners about standardized testing methods and investigative technique. He combines courtroom experience, instructional work, and state bar participation in his daily practice.
He currently practices law at Chadwick & Spensley PLLC and handles DUI investigation, field sobriety issues, and related criminal defense matters in Vermont.
