About Ethan M.
Ethan M. Weisinger has spent his career working on family law matters in the Bay Area. He learned the tools of the trade in law school and in the county courts where disputes are resolved. That combination of classroom study and real-world practice shapes the way he approaches cases today.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from California Polytechnic State University in 2006. He went on to obtain his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2010. Those years laid a foundation in legal research, writing and courtroom procedure that he would use immediately after graduation.
In 2010 he joined Walnut Creek Family Law Center, taking on a partner role there. He spent the next several years handling family law matters and representing clients in negotiation and litigation. In 2012 he worked for the firm Bley and Bley, where he continued to develop his courtroom experience and client-facing skills. In 2017 he opened Bay Area Family Law Center and serves as its owner. That move established him as a local practitioner managing both legal work and the operations of a small firm.
He is a California Certified Family Law Specialist, recognized by the State Bar of California. He holds memberships in the California State Certified Family Law Specialist group and the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, both since 2017. From 2014 to 2016 he served as an elected representative for the Contra Costa County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Those roles placed him in professional circles that discuss practice trends and procedural developments affecting family law in the region.
Throughout his career he has worked on the kinds of issues that commonly arise in family law: dissolution of marriage, custody and visitation, support, and property division. He has experience in both settlement negotiations and contested hearings. He practices in California, where he is licensed to represent clients in state court proceedings.
At Bay Area Family Law Center he manages client matters and the business side of the firm. He practices family law and focuses his work on resolving disputes related to divorce, child custody, support and division of assets.
