About Erin Kathleen
Erin Kathleen Flynn trained as a historian and communicator before turning to the law. She earned a B.A. in History and Communications from Boston College in 2002 and completed her J.D. at American University Washington College of Law in 2005. Those academic years set a steady course for a practice that spans state and federal courts.
Her early practice was built in small firms and public interest settings. In 2009 she worked at the Law Office of Michael Laux and moved the next year to O'Conner Redd, LLP as an associate. In 2011 she volunteered with The Legal Aid Society's Prisoners' Rights Project. She opened the Law Office of Erin Flynn in 2012 and returned to associate roles at the Law Offices of Eric Franz in 2014, McCabe Weisberg and Conway in 2017, and Clair & Gjertsen in 2018. That mix of solo practice, nonprofit work, and firm experience informs the way she approaches cases.
Flynn is admitted in multiple jurisdictions. Her admissions include New York and Connecticut, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the District of Connecticut, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials reflect a practice that has moved between state-level matters and federal litigation.
She has also remained active in bar organizations. She has served in leadership roles in the New York State Bar Association, including chairing the Committee on Lawyers in Transition and previously chairing the Young Lawyers Section. She represents a constituency of Connecticut lawyers as a delegate to the Connecticut Bar Association's House of Delegates, and she holds membership in the Westchester County Bar Association since 2019. Those positions have kept her involved in professional development and policy conversations affecting early- and mid-career attorneys.
Colleagues and clients see an attorney accustomed to shifting roles. Her resume shows courtroom appearances, solo practice management, pro bono service, and time inside law firms. She has handled matters in both state and federal settings and has balanced litigation and client counseling.
She now practices at Clair Gjertsen & Weathers PLLC. She handles civil litigation and appellate matters in state and federal courts, while maintaining involvement in bar leadership and pro bono projects.
