About Erik
Erik Locascio built his path to law through study and early courtroom work. He earned a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and completed a J.D. at the University of Houston in 2011. Those years shaped his understanding of language and argument, and they led him into public service soon after graduation.
His first notable role after law school was in Harris County, where he served as an Assistant District Lawyer in 2012. That position placed him in the daily rhythm of criminal cases. He handled filings, appeared in court and worked alongside prosecutors, gaining experience in case preparation and trial procedure. The job offered a front-row view of local criminal practice and the functioning of the Harris County justice system.
In 2015 he moved into the private sector as an Associate in quality control for alliantgroup. The role differed from courtroom work. It involved compliance, review, and internal processes tied to a company environment. That experience broadened his perspective on how legal work operates outside the courthouse and exposed him to corporate procedures and regulatory considerations.
Throughout his career he has maintained ties to the legal community in Houston and Texas. He has been a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association since 2011. He joined the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association in 2015 and remains active there. Earlier, from 2012 to 2014, he was a member of the Texas District and County Lawyers Association. These memberships reflect ongoing engagement with peers and continuing exposure to developments in criminal and local practice.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and pragmatic in court settings. His background combines courtroom prosecution experience with corporate compliance work. That mix gives him a practical view of evidence handling, procedural deadlines and the administrative side of legal practice. He draws on his undergraduate training in English when drafting motions and briefing issues, aiming for clarity and precision in written advocacy.
He is licensed to practice in Texas and continues to live and work in the state. His recent professional activities center on matters arising in Texas courts and local legal organizations. As of 2026 he practices in Texas and concentrates on criminal law matters and related procedural issues.
