In 1991, Erik earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law. This academic foundation was complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University. His background as a Certified Public Accountant allows him to structure complex business transactions effectively.
This expertise is particularly valuable when drafting various commercial agreements and assisting clients with the purchase and sale of business assets. Additionally, he provides critical tax advice related to structuring transactions and resolving disputes with the IRS and state taxing authorities. Before establishing Lincoln Tax & Business Attorneys, Erik was an equity partner at Moore & Van Allen, one of the largest law firms in North and South Carolina. During his tenure there, he worked closely with Fortune 500 companies, advising them on business law, mergers and acquisitions, and tax matters. His experience as a senior tax manager at Ernst & Young further enriched his understanding of federal, state, and international tax issues. This diverse background equips him with the knowledge necessary to handle the requirements of business law.
