About Erica de

Erica de Lachica took a conventional route into law. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science at St. Mary’s University in 2007 and went on to earn her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2011. Those credentials laid the groundwork for a legal career conducted entirely within Texas.

After finishing law school in 2011, de Lachica began practicing in Texas. She is admitted to the Texas bar and maintains professional memberships in legal associations. Over the years she has handled matters that require familiarity with state statutes, court rules and the procedural demands of Texas practice.

Her education shaped both her approach to advocacy and her understanding of policy. The political science background gave her a lens for statutory interpretation and legislative context. The law school training provided practical exposure to litigation and transactional concepts. Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to detail; she approaches each matter with an emphasis on legal analysis and procedural clarity.

de Lachica’s work has included courtroom appearances, client counseling and drafting of pleadings and motions. She prepares cases for trial and handles motion practice. In client meetings she emphasizes clear explanation of options and likely outcomes. That practical orientation informs how she manages deadlines, evidence and negotiation points.

Outside of casework she remains engaged with the professional community. She holds current memberships in bar-related organizations and attends continuing legal education programs to stay current on developments in Texas law. Those activities inform her day-to-day practice and help her anticipate procedural and substantive shifts that can affect clients.

Erica de Lachica’s practice is grounded in the rules and processes of the Texas courts. She continues to represent clients in matters arising under Texas law, focusing her work on serving individuals and businesses through litigation, counseling and statutory matters.
