About Eric
Eric Shane built a foundation in business before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Florida State University's Panama City campus in 2000. Three years later he completed his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 2003. That combination of business training and legal education shapes how he approaches cases.
After law school, Shane entered private practice and joined Leesfield & Partners as an associate. His role centers on litigation work in Florida courts and in the federal courts that cover the region. He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Those admissions allow him to handle matters that move between state and federal forums.
At Leesfield & Partners Shane contributes to case preparation, discovery management, motion practice and trial readiness. He spends time drafting pleadings, responding to complex discovery requests and preparing witness testimony. He often works on case strategy with more senior attorneys and is involved in the day-to-day client contact that keeps a case moving. His background in marketing helps when framing arguments and organizing factual narratives for juries and judges.
Colleagues describe him as precise in legal research and methodical in case management. He participates in courtroom work when cases proceed toward trial, and he supports settlement efforts when appropriate. His practice requires juggling documents, deadlines and depositions. He handles those tasks with an attention to detail that colleagues expect from litigators in busy practices.
Shane maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to continuing legal education and to the professional networks that inform practice in Florida's courts.
Outside the courtroom he is known for taking the procedural questions clients bring and translating them into clear next steps. That pragmatic approach helps clients understand what to expect at each phase of litigation. He remains based at Leesfield & Partners, where he continues to manage civil litigation matters in state and federal courts. He currently practices as an associate at Leesfield & Partners, handling litigation matters in Florida and before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
