About Eric N.
Eric N. Barnes built a legal path that starts in classrooms and threads through courtrooms. He arrived at law school after finishing an undergraduate degree in health and fitness, then spent years gaining hands-on experience in Pennsylvania’s legal community.
Barnes earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2007. He completed his undergraduate studies at George Mason University, where he studied health, fitness and recreation resources and finished in 2004. Those academic years paired a traditional legal curriculum with community-facing legal work during his time in Pittsburgh.
Early in his legal training he worked inside several court and clinic settings. In 2008 he served as a legal intern to The Honorable Beth A. Lazzara at the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. He returned to the University of Pittsburgh in 2009 as a certified legal intern in the Community Economic Development Clinic, representing projects that typically involved local nonprofits and small development matters. That same year he worked as a law clerk at AAAL — Allegheny Lawyers At Law, P.C., and the following year he joined the firm as an associate.
His move from law clerk to associate at AAAL in 2010 anchored his practice in a firm that has kept him connected to the Allegheny County bar. He has been a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association since 2008 and joined the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2010. Those memberships reflect steady engagement with the regional legal community rather than episodic participation.
Outside the office Barnes has maintained a link to athletics. Since 2011 he has served as a staff instructor for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. That role extends his interest in coaching and sports instruction into a long-term volunteer and professional activity that runs alongside his legal work.
Licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Barnes combines courtroom experience, clinical training and firm practice. He remains based at AAAL — Allegheny Lawyers At Law, P.C., where he handles matters that arise in state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
