About Eric
Eric Lewis trained first as a journalist and political scientist before turning to law. He earned a B.A. from Indiana University–Bloomington in journalism and political science, then studied at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law where he received his J.D. The path from newsroom to courtroom shaped how he talks to clients and presents facts.
His legal career began in support roles. In 2005 he worked as a legal assistant at Blythe & Ost, performing research and case-preparation tasks that introduced him to the daily rhythms of civil practice. He moved into a practicing role in 2009 as an associate at Geraci Law, LLC, which was formerly known as the Law Offices of Peter Francis Geraci, and handled a high volume of consumer-oriented matters.
In 2010 he launched his own practice, Lewis Legal Services, P.C. The firm marks a shift from associate to counsel and manager. That same year he appears on membership rolls for multiple professional organizations, reflecting his integration into both Indiana and Illinois legal communities. His memberships include the Illinois Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers.
Lewis is admitted to practice in both Indiana and Illinois. He is also a Certified Civil Mediator through the Indiana Commission on Continuing Legal Education. The mediation credential gives him an additional tool for resolving disputes outside court. He handles settlement conferences and mediations alongside litigation and filing work.
Colleagues and clients describe his work as practical and focused on solving client problems rather than on legal theory alone. He draws on the procedural familiarity gained at high-volume consumer practice and applies it to individual client matters. His experience spans intake and investigation through court filings, creditors’ negotiations, and the mechanics of bankruptcy practice.
He keeps an office in the Indianapolis North area where he meets with clients from the region. His calendar still carries the fast pace of earlier practice years, but he also sets aside time for mediation and case review. Currently he maintains an active practice that concentrates on consumer bankruptcy, debt relief, and related dispute resolution services.
