About Eric J.
Eric J. Parker studied philosophy at Vassar College, graduating in 1979, before turning to law at Suffolk University Law School, where he earned his J.D. in 1986. His academic path combined the analytic rigor of a liberal arts program with the practical training of a regional law school. That mix shaped an early interest in courtroom work and procedural strategy.
After law school Parker entered private practice and by 1988 was a partner at Sarrouf, Tarricone & Flemming, P.C. He spent years building trial experience and handling matters that required courtroom advocacy. Over time his practice broadened to include cases that intersect with transportation safety and regulatory issues, reflecting the professional associations he later joined.
Parker is admitted in Massachusetts and New York and is authorized to appear before the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Those admissions have supported a career anchored in federal and state litigation. Colleagues describe him as an experienced courtroom lawyer who handles complex factual records and legal briefing with equal attention.
Professional memberships have been a visible part of his career. He belongs to the Massachusetts State Bar, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. National organizations on his list include the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Association for Justice, the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association and the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association. He served as president of the Massachusetts chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates from 2008 to 2009 and was vice president the year before. He also co-chaired the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Task Force on Law, the Economy, and Underemployment from 2011 to 2012.
Those leadership roles have involved organizing educational programs, mentoring younger lawyers and working on policy questions affecting trial practice and the local bar. They also speak to his engagement with issues where litigation, regulatory frameworks and transportation safety intersect. He has appeared in both trial and appellate settings and participates regularly in continuing legal education events.
He currently practices at PARKER SCHEER LLP, where he continues to handle civil litigation matters and cases that raise transportation safety or regulatory questions. His present work emphasizes trial advocacy and litigation counseling in state and federal courts.
