Eric Edilberto Castelblanco is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991 and holds bar number 156241. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Castelblanco is the founder and managing attorney of Castelblanco Law Group, APLC, a law firm located in Studio City, California. He has been practicing law for over 33 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
Mr. Castelblanco earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 1991. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. During his time at Harvard, he was involved in the Harvard Law School Leadership Council, contributing to the guidance of legal education and advocacy.
Mr. Castelblanco concentrates his practice in the areas of landlord-tenant law and personal injury. He represents tenants in habitability cases, addressing issues such as unsafe and unsanitary living conditions, including infestations and inadequate maintenance. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Castelblanco has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Castelblanco is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He has been recognized as a Housing Champion by Inquilinos Unidos in 2015. He is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Castelblanco is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
