About Emily

Emily Walters earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2009 after completing a bachelor’s degree in history and international studies at Thomas More College in 2004. The combination of liberal arts and legal training shaped an interest in how law intersects with community and public affairs. She has built a practice centered in Kentucky since completing her studies.

Her early years in the profession were spent establishing a foothold in private practice. In 2021 she formed Walters Law, PLLC, where she handled day-to-day client matters and managed the responsibilities that come with running a small practice. That experience exposed her to both the legal and business sides of running a law office and informed how she approaches client relationships and case management.

In 2023 she became a partner at Ziegler & Schneider. The move marked a shift from solo practice to a partnership model, and it also expanded the resources available to her and her clients. Colleagues describe her as methodical and pragmatic in the way she evaluates cases and organizes legal strategy. She maintains an active professional presence and holds current membership in bar and legal organizations.

Walters blends courtroom experience with transactional work. She has handled matters that required negotiation, drafting and appearances before tribunals in Kentucky. Her background in history and international studies sometimes informs how she frames complex factual narratives for judges and juries. Clients who have worked with her note a straightforward manner and an emphasis on clear communication, especially when cases require detailed explanation of legal options.

She splits her time between client representation and firm responsibilities. At Ziegler & Schneider, PSC she participates in case development, client counseling and firm management tasks. Her shift into partnership has meant mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to firm-wide decision-making. She remains based in Kentucky and conducts litigation and transactional work across the state. She currently concentrates her practice on representing clients across Kentucky.
