About Emily Cannon

Emily Cannon Green left an unusual trail into the law. She trained as a harpist, earned a music degree, then turned to legal study and steady courtroom work. The shift shaped how she approaches cases: methodical, attentive to detail, and practiced at listening.

She completed a Bachelor of Music in Musical Arts (Harp) at Vanderbilt University in 2011. She stayed at Vanderbilt and earned her J.D. in 2014. While in law school she joined Phi Delta Phi, the international legal honor society, and has maintained that membership since 2012.

Early in her legal career she worked in the federal court system. In 2012 she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Magistrate Judge John S. Bryant in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. That position gave her exposure to federal procedure and court operations. The next year she took a clerkship with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, a role that involved research, drafting and an immersion in state agency work.

After law school she moved into private practice. In 2014 she joined The Fleming Law Office & Mediation Center as an attorney. The office’s name reflects mediation services that were part of the practice environment where she spent her early years as a lawyer. Her bar association records show active membership in the Tennessee Bar Association and the Robertson County Bar Association beginning in 2014.

In 2019 she became a partner at Jones, Green, & Tackett Law, PLLC. The move placed her in a small firm setting where she has continued to work in Tennessee courts and before administrative bodies. Her career path—clerkships, agency work, mediation experience and private practice—has given her a range of practical perspectives on case preparation and dispute resolution.

Colleagues and records describe a lawyer who came to the law after another discipline and built steady courtroom and office experience over a decade. She has kept active in local and state bar organizations, sustaining professional ties in the region where she works.

She practices law through Jones, Green, & Tackett Law, PLLC, and maintains active membership in the Tennessee Bar Association and the Robertson County Bar Association. Her current practice focuses on legal matters in Tennessee.
