About Emilee K. Lawson

Emilee K. Lawson Hatch earned a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2008 and followed that with an LL.M. in Estate Planning and Tax from the University of Miami School of Law in 2009. Her academic path combined core legal training with specialized study of the tax rules that shape how families transfer assets and handle end-of-life matters.

She joined Bousquet Holstein PLLC early in her career and is listed as a partner there beginning in 2009. Over the years she has practiced in settings that require coordination among attorneys, financial advisors and fiduciaries. That practical experience has informed how she approaches planning and dispute work.

Her credentialing underlines the direction of her work. She is a Certified Accredited Estate Planner through the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. She also holds membership in both the State Bar of New York and the State Bar of Massachusetts. Those affiliations reflect her licensure in multiple jurisdictions and the cross-border issues that sometimes arise for clients.

Hatch is active in professional groups that focus on elder and estate matters. She has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 2016 and of the William Herbert Johnson Bar Association of Central New York since 2016. She joined the Estate Planning Council of Central New York, the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and the Central New York Women’s Bar Association in 2009, and she continues to participate in those organizations.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in handling the tax and regulatory details that affect families and older clients. She regularly works on planning documents, probate and issues that involve long-term care planning. Her LL.M. training in estate planning and tax informs conversations about tax consequences and the practical mechanics of trusts and other instruments.

As of 2026 she practices at Bousquet Holstein PLLC, advising individuals and families on estate planning, elder law matters and tax-related aspects of wealth transfer and fiduciary administration.
