About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Cuenca built a practice from a mix of classroom study and early years in small Florida firms. She left law school with a certificate in corporate and commercial law, but steered her practice toward people, paperwork and procedures that matter to immigrants and families. Calm under pressure, she handles the everyday as much as the unusual.

She earned her J.D. from the University of Denver in 2011, where she also completed the Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate. Before that she graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2007 with a B.S. in Spanish and International Studies, concentrating on the global environment and commons. Her academic path combined language, policy and law—skills that later informed client work and file management.

Cuenca began practicing in Florida after law school. She worked as an associate at the Gilbert Garcia Group in 2015, then moved to Neil F. Lewis, P.A., as an associate in 2016. Those early roles gave her courtroom exposure and casework experience. She handled filings, client interviews and legal research. The tasks were straightforward, but they provided a foundation for running a firm.

In 2018 she opened Elizabeth Cuenca, P.A., where she serves as owner and CEO. Building a firm required her to wear many hats: attorney, manager, and point person for clients. She organized intake systems, developed case strategies and managed case flow. Running the firm also meant attending to administrative duties that kept cases moving.

Her professional memberships include the American Immigration Lawyers Association. That affiliation keeps her connected to colleagues and to developments in federal immigration policy and practice. She maintains professional relationships that feed into day-to-day casework.

Cuenca practices in Florida. Her work involves client counseling, preparing petitions and responding to government requests. She represents individuals through different stages of immigration proceedings and handles the paperwork that determines outcomes. She currently practices immigration law in Florida.
