About Eliza
Eliza Jasinska trained first as a nurse before turning to law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Public Health from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2002 and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the same campus in 2008. After several years in clinical and administrative nursing roles, she returned to school and obtained her Juris Doctor from John F. Kennedy University School of Law in 2016, where she completed coursework in family law, elder law and public interest matters.
Her medical background shaped the early phase of her professional life. Licensed as a registered nurse since 1999, she worked in settings that required both bedside care and program administration. That experience informed her view of how legal systems intersect with health care, especially for older adults and people with disabilities. The combination of clinical insight and legal training became a through-line in her subsequent career.
In 2021 she took on a leadership role at Advocates for the Elderly and Disabled, serving as executive director and lawyer. There she worked on policy and individual casework tied to benefits, guardianship, and access to services. She also holds certifications in family law and elder law from JFKU School of Law, credentials that reflect her coursework and specialized training in those areas.
Since 2023 she has practiced under the Jasinska Law Office Professional Corporation. The firm handles matters that sit at the crossroads of family law and elder law, drawing on her dual background in nursing and law. Her work has included cases involving conservatorship, long-term care planning, and disputes over benefits and caregiving arrangements. Casework has required collaboration with medical providers, social workers, and community agencies.
Colleagues describe her approach as practical. She tends to break complex problems into manageable steps and to weigh clinical realities alongside legal options. Her voice in client meetings often reflects the language of both professions. Outside of private practice she has remained involved in advocacy on behalf of older adults and people with disabilities.
She is licensed to practice in California and maintains her registered nurse credential. Jasinska currently practices through Jasinska Law Office Professional Corporation, handling family law and elder law matters in California.
