Elise Marie Mitchell is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Mitchell earned her Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1990. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California at San Diego, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning Studies with a Minor in Economics in 1987. During her time at Duquesne University, she developed a strong foundation in legal principles, which has informed her subsequent legal practice.
Ms. Mitchell concentrates her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, divorce, estate planning, and family law. She represents individuals and families in matters involving debt relief, property division, child custody, and estate administration. Her practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial consultations, negotiations, mediations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Mitchell has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has also appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate attorney at a mid-size law firm in San Jose for several years, gaining experience in various areas of law.
Ms. Mitchell is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. She holds membership in the Family Law Section of the California State Bar. She is also a certified mediator through the Santa Clara County Superior Court mediation program. Ms. Mitchell is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of the San Jose area effectively.
