About Elgine
Elgine McArdle is a attorney based in Wheeling, West Virginia, with over 30 years of experience in criminal and family law. She is the founder of McArdle Law Office, a general litigation practice focusing on state and federal criminal defense, family law, and corporate litigation. The firm serves clients, handling approximately 100 cases at any given time. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1989, McArdle began her legal career as a federal prosecutor in the Northern District of West Virginia. During her five-year tenure, she prosecuted federal crimes, including narcotics and fraud, and served as the Ethics Officer under U.S.
Attorney William Kolibash. She also designed and implemented the first Victim Witness Assistance Program in the district. In 1994, McArdle expanded her practice to Ohio, becoming licensed to practice law there. In 2024, she filed for a seat on the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals, aiming to bring her experience in family law to the judiciary.
McArdle is also committed to community service, volunteering with various youth hockey organizations and serving as the Safe Sport Coordinator for USA Hockey Mid Am District. She and her husband, Jack, have been married for over 30 years and have three children: Danielle, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst; Ian, an anesthesiologist in residency at WVU Hospitals; and Brooke, a Medicare Analyst with the West Virginia Attorney General's office. Her dedication to her clients and community has been recognized with several honors, including being named among the "Top Ten Family Law Attorneys in WV" in 2020 and 2021.
