About Elena
Elena Tsizer trained as both a lawyer and a tax specialist. She earned her J.D. from New England Law | Boston and later added an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Those credentials shape how she approaches cases that mix family dynamics with financial complexity.
Her earliest legal experience came in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court, where she served as a judicial law clerk in 2006. The clerkship gave her a close view of how judges handle custody, support and estate-related disputes. In 2009 she opened the Law Office of Elena Tsizer, LLC and acted as principal lawyer. That practice laid the groundwork for subsequent roles in private firms. She worked as a lawyer at Group W Legal Partners in 2011 and at Lewis & Leeper in 2012, handling matters that returned again and again to the intersection of family concerns and financial detail.
Tsizer has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 2006. She holds admission in Massachusetts and before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Since 2015 she has participated in the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court, a professional group that brings judges, lawyers and academics together to discuss developments in family law. Her LL.M. in Taxation informs how she addresses financial issues that arise in divorce, estate and probate contexts.
Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She draws on courtroom experience and the procedural insight gained from the clerkship years earlier. That background shows up in pleadings and courtroom work, and in efforts to clarify complex financial questions for judges and opposing counsel. Her practice history spans solo practice and work inside small firms, giving her experience in both client-facing and litigation roles.
Today she practices at Tsizer Law, P.C. She represents clients in matters that reach Massachusetts state courts and, where required, matters that implicate federal appellate jurisdiction in the First Circuit. Her current practice focuses on family and probate matters in Massachusetts and before the First Circuit.
