About Elaine Esther
Elaine Esther Lukic built a legal education that mixes trial training and specialized study. She earned her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1997. She later completed advanced legal degrees at Georgetown University Law Center in subjects including criminal procedure and securities regulation, and at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she earned an LL.M. in federal taxation in 2002.
Her early career took her into public service. In 1998 she served as a deputy district lawyer in the 12th Judicial District District Attorney’s Office. The following year she launched a solo practice, opening The Law Offices of Elaine E. Lukic. Since then she has maintained a private practice while remaining active in bar and professional groups across multiple states.
Her admissions span state and federal forums. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and New York, and to federal venues including the U.S. Tax Court and the Federal Circuit. She also holds admissions in Pennsylvania and Florida. That geographic range reflects both her tax training and her work in criminal defense courts.
Lukic has pursued additional credentialing tied to roadside and impaired-driving evaluations. She holds National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) certification through Lance Platt, PhD & Associates, and an NHSA instructor-level SPST certification. Those certifications have informed courtroom work and expert witness preparation in cases involving substance-impaired driving.
Her professional memberships are long-standing and span local, state and national organizations. She belongs to the American Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is active in the Florida Bar Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and she maintains membership in regional bar groups such as the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Eastern Pennsylvania Bar Association. She is also a member of National Women Trial Lawyers and belongs to local bar groups in the first judicial district and in Colorado.
Clients and colleagues describe a lawyer who combines courtroom experience and specialized tax training. She has balanced trial work with advisory matters, drawing on both her criminal procedure background and tax expertise. She has also remained engaged with nonprofit and recovery-oriented groups, including Teen Challenge 180/Rocky Mountain Division.
Lukic operates from The Law Offices of Elaine Esther Lukic. Her current practice handles criminal defense and tax matters across the jurisdictions where she is admitted.
