About Matthew Spencer
Matthew Spencer Gold earned a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2010. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 2013, finishing law school just as he prepared to begin work in public service. Those academic years framed a steady move from the study of communities to the practice of law.
After law school, Gold joined the staff of Colorado’s First Judicial District as a Deputy District Lawyer in 2013. He worked at the trial level, taking on responsibilities that included courtroom appearances, case preparation and day-to-day decision making in an office that handles a wide range of matters. The role placed him in the center of trial calendars and required quick judgment under pressure.
The early years in the district office sharpened routine trial skills. He handled evidence presentation, prepared witnesses, and drafted legal filings. He also spent long hours on legal research and on negotiating resolutions when cases allowed. Those tasks built a practical foundation that informed his next steps out of government work and into private practice.
Gold later moved into private practice and now operates through Gold Law, L.L.C. He organizes a small office that serves clients across Colorado courts. The transition from public service to private practice did not erase his courtroom background; it altered how he applies that experience. In private practice he draws on years of procedural knowledge and familiarity with local court systems to advise and represent individuals and businesses.
He keeps active ties to the legal profession through ongoing memberships in professional organizations. Those affiliations provide continuing education and regular contact with colleagues across practice areas. They also supply a network he consults when cases raise questions that fall outside his immediate expertise.
Colleagues and former clients have noted an attention to procedural detail and a readiness to handle contested hearings. He balances preparation for trial with efforts to resolve matters efficiently when a negotiated outcome serves a client’s interest. The combination of courtroom experience and private practice has shaped a pragmatic approach to case work.
Gold is licensed to practice in Colorado and maintains his office under the name Gold Law, L.L.C. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients in matters brought in Colorado courts through Gold Law, L.L.C.
