About Edwin Christian
Edwin Christian Cisneros built a legal foundation over two degrees and more than a decade of practice in Florida. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008 and returned to academia to complete an LL.M. in Taxation at Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. Those credentials frame the work he pursues today.
After law school, Cisneros began practicing in Florida. His academic path — a general law degree followed by advanced tax study — informs how he approaches client matters. The LL.M. program at Georgetown gave him concentrated exposure to federal tax rules, tax policy and the technical analysis that tax questions often require. The earlier J.D. provided the broader legal training that supports transactional and regulatory thinking.
Cisneros serves as an associate at Barbosa Legal. In that role he works on matters that draw on both his J.D. and his tax training. He handles research and drafting, counsels on regulatory issues, and assists in preparing analyses that rely on detailed statutory and administrative guidance. Colleagues note his methodical approach to complex paperwork and his emphasis on clear, practical explanations.
His background in tax law shapes the types of problems he is asked to address. He is experienced in reviewing tax rules and applying them to client situations. That has involved tax analysis in transactional settings, helping to identify consequences for businesses and individuals. The technical nature of tax practice means clients often look for a lawyer who can translate dense rules into options they can understand.
Outside firm work, Cisneros is active in local professional circles. He has been a member of the South Miami Kendall Bar Association since 2011. That affiliation keeps him connected to other Florida practitioners and to the local legal community.
Cisneros is licensed to practice in Florida and works from Barbosa Legal’s offices. He balances casework and client counseling with continuing education tied to tax developments. He remains engaged in matters that draw on his LL.M. training. Currently, his practice concentrates on tax-related matters at Barbosa Legal.
