About Edward (Ted)
Edward (Ted) McNabola built a legal life out of courtrooms and classrooms. He began his academic path at Miami University of Ohio, earning a B.A. in 1989 with a dual major in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs and Political Science and a minor in Applied Ethics. He returned to Chicago for a law degree, receiving his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1992. Three years later he completed an M.A. in Judicial Politics at Loyola University Chicago.
He entered practice shortly after law school. His early years included an associate’s post at Dowd & Dowd, Ltd. in 1993. By 1996 he was a partner at McNabola Law Group, P.C., marking a shift into leadership. In 2016 he founded McNabola & Associates, LLC, the firm he leads today. Alongside practice, he taught law as an adjunct professor at both Northwestern University School of Law and Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Those classroom stints ran concurrent with his litigation work and kept him engaged with emerging lawyers.
His professional affiliations read like a roster of organizations tied to trial practice and bar involvement. He holds membership in the United States Supreme Court Bar since 2008. He has belonged to the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association since the early 1990s. He served on committees at the Chicago Bar Association, including the Medical-Legal Relations and Moot Court committees during the 2006–2010 period, and took part in the Tort Litigation Committee earlier in the 2000s. He was elected to a general committee in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association in 1999 and later served in the Illinois State Bar Association’s General Assembly.
Community and professional service have been constant as well. He has been on the board of Metropolitan Family Services since 2000 and has been involved with Children’s Charities of Chicago since 1996. He has maintained long-standing ties to trial lawyer groups and has held an officer role as Treasurer of The Society of Trial Lawyers beginning in 2019. Those roles reflect steady involvement in both civic and legal organizations over decades.
McNabola is admitted to practice in Illinois and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. He practices from McNabola & Associates, LLC, where he handles trial and civil litigation matters. He focuses his current practice on trial and civil litigation matters.
