About Edward Ted J. Laperouse

Edward Ted J. Laperouse II earned his undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University, receiving a B.A. in 1995. He continued his legal education at Loyola University New Orleans and completed his J.D. in 1998. Those years shaped his understanding of regional law and introduced him to the practical demands of practicing across state lines.

After law school, Laperouse built a practice spanning Louisiana and Texas. He is admitted to practice in both jurisdictions and has worked in private practice throughout his career. Over time he established a base at Laperouse, APLC, where he manages client matters that require attention to the laws and procedures of both states.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and clear in counseling clients. He regularly appears before state courts and handles pretrial work, negotiations and filings. The work requires close attention to procedural rules and statutes that differ from one state to another. He has spent years learning those differences and applying them on behalf of clients.

Clients come to him for help navigating state-level disputes and regulatory questions. He approaches each matter by identifying the core legal issues and mapping a practical route forward. That often means coordinating with local counsel, assembling factual records, and setting a litigation or transactional strategy that fits the client’s timeframe and objectives.

At Laperouse, APLC, he oversees case intake and directs litigation strategy. The office handles matters that arise in the varied legal environments of Texas and Louisiana. He maintains professional ties in both communities and keeps current on changes in state law and court rules. His day-to-day work combines courtroom preparation, written advocacy and client advising.

Outside the office he remains engaged with the procedural and substantive developments that shape state practice. He attends continuing legal education programs and consults on cross-jurisdictional matters that require careful legal and factual analysis. He practices through Laperouse, APLC, and currently focuses on representing clients in matters governed by Texas and Louisiana law.
