About Edward

Edward Jesson built a practical legal foundation through study and early firm work. He earned a B.S. from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and went on to receive a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. Those years set the groundwork for a career that crosses state lines and federal courts.

He is licensed in Florida and North Carolina and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. That combination of state and federal credentials has shaped how he approaches client matters, allowing him to work on cases that move between forums.

Jesson began his post-law-school career in private practice. In 2012 he worked as an associate at Brown & Heller. The following year he joined Fowler White Burnett, PA as an associate and handled matters for the firm’s clients. In 2015 he moved to Jesson & Rains, initially listed as counsel there, and continues his practice at Jesson & Rains, PLLC. His path shows steady advancement within firm settings and an orientation toward courtroom and client-side work.

Over the years his practice has involved representation in both state and federal forums. That experience has required familiarity with procedural differences and strategic choices that vary by jurisdiction. He works on disputes and transactional matters that reach across Florida and North Carolina, and he appears in the federal appellate context where issues require briefing and advocacy before the Eleventh Circuit.

Outside the office Jesson is active in community and professional organizations. He has been a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association since 2015. He also serves in volunteer leadership roles in outdoor and conservation-minded groups. Since 2017 he has been treasurer of the Broad River Chapter of Quail Forever and has served as vice president of the Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club. Those commitments reflect an interest in land, wildlife, and local stewardship.

Colleagues note that his practice blends courtroom work and client counseling across multiple jurisdictions. He continues to work from Jesson & Rains, PLLC, handling matters that span state and federal levels and representing clients across his admitted jurisdictions.
