About Edward
Edward Hopkins' academic path spans management, language studies and the law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the United States Air Force Academy in 1995. He later completed post-baccalaureate studies in linguistics and philosophy at the University of Arizona in 2004. Hopkins returned to the University of Arizona for law school and received his J.D. from the James E. Rogers College of Law in 2010.
After law school he moved into private practice and rose to a leadership role at his firm. He is a partner at Rathod Mohamedbhai LLC, where he works alongside other litigators and counsel on matters that touch on technology and privacy. His career has bridged technical subject matter and courtroom procedure, reflecting the blend of his earlier studies and legal training.
Hopkins is admitted to practice in multiple forums. He holds state admissions in Georgia and Colorado, and he is admitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. That range of admissions lets him handle issues that cut across state and federal lines.
He has built a roster of professional privacy credentials through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Those credentials include Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and certifications as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the U.S. private sector, the U.S. government, Europe, Canada and Asia. He is also a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), a designation that reflects sustained engagement in privacy practice and education.
Hopkins maintains ties to bar and trial groups. He is a member of the American Bar Association and has served on the board of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association since 2023. Those roles keep him connected to developments in litigation practice and professional governance.
Colleagues and clients turn to Hopkins for issues that involve data protection, regulatory compliance and cross-border privacy questions. He advises on privacy program design, incident response planning and compliance strategies across multiple legal regimes. His technical and managerial background informs how he approaches policy and operational questions.
He practices at Rathod Mohamedbhai LLC, where he represents clients on privacy, data security and related regulatory matters. He continues to work on cases and counseling that involve both domestic and international privacy concerns.
