About E. Martin

E. Martin Knepper has practiced law for decades across Delaware and Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Delaware in 1977 and a Juris Doctor from Dickinson School of Law in 1980. Those years set the foundation for a career spent largely in litigation and courtroom work.

He began his legal career in government. In 1981 he served as Deputy Lawyer General at the State of Delaware Department of Justice. That early experience placed him on the front line of state litigation and exposed him to a broad range of legal matters handled by the department. A few years later he left public service to begin private practice.

In 1984 Knepper opened the Law Offices of E. Martin Knepper as a sole practitioner. He built a small practice and handled cases personally for clients. In 1987 he joined Czajkowski, Weik & Knepper as a lawyer, returning to a team environment and broadening the scope of his caseload. In 1992 he became a partner at Knepper & Stratton, a role he has held since. The firm maintains offices in Wilmington, Dover and Newark, where he has continued to handle courtroom matters and oversee client work.

His professional affiliations include long-standing membership in the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, a membership he has held since 1985. The association ties reflect his ongoing work in matters that reach trial. He is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and Delaware and has spent his career dividing time between the two states as circumstances and clients required.

Knepper’s career path follows a steady trajectory from government service to solo practice to partnership in a regional firm. He has alternated between handling cases personally and collaborating with colleagues. That blend of experience informs how he approaches disputes and courtroom preparation. Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in the way he manages cases and interacts with witnesses and clients.

Today he continues at Knepper & Stratton, working from the firm’s Wilmington, Dover and Newark offices. He represents clients in civil litigation, including personal injury and trial matters, across Delaware and Pennsylvania.
