About Dylan
Dylan Knoll took a circuitous route into law. He read politics in Melbourne, returned to the United States to study Catholic studies, then finished law school in Minnesota. The mix of international undergraduate study and dual graduate degrees informs a practice that crosses jurisdictions and institutions.
He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Melbourne in 2006. He later completed an M.A. in Catholic Studies at the University of Saint Thomas in 2013 and a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota School of Law in 2013. Those credentials reflect both academic breadth and a period of concentrated legal study.
Knoll’s early legal work began in public sector settings. In 2011 he served as a law clerk in the Hennepin County Lawyer’s Office. The following year he worked as a judicial law clerk in the Minnesota Third Judicial District. Those roles gave him courtroom exposure and a close view of judicial decision-making early in his career.
He moved into private practice shortly after law school. In 2014 he founded Dylan Knoll, LLC. That same year he worked as an associate at Johnson, Yacoubian & Paysse. He then served as an associate at Tabary & Borne, LLC in 2016 and later at Denechaud & Denechaud, LLC in 2017. His résumé shows experience at small and mid-sized firms as well as the initiative of starting his own practice.
Knoll has maintained memberships in a wide range of legal organizations. He holds active memberships in the Louisiana State Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, both showing affiliation since 2014. He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, the St. Thomas More Catholic Lawyers Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Federalist Society and the American Bar Association, with some of those connections stretching back to 2009 and 2010.
Licensed in Louisiana and Texas, Knoll’s practice has included matters in state and federal forums. He has combined public-sector clerking experience and private firm practice across different legal communities. He currently practices at Denechaud & Denechaud, LLC and represents clients in matters across Louisiana and Texas.
