About Duana
Duana Boswell-Loechel took an unconventional path to the law. She began in the sciences, earning a B.S. in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries from Texas A&M University–Galveston in 1994 and an A.S. in Humanities from the University of Houston–Clear Lake in 2000. She later completed a J.D. at South Texas College of Law in 2004, a shift that set the stage for a career centered on family law in Texas.
Her early post-law-school steps were entrepreneurial. In 2005 she opened Loechel Law Office and began building a practice. That hands-on experience at the start of her legal career was followed by a role in public-interest law. By 2010 she was Litigation Director for Family Law at Lone Star Legal Aid, overseeing litigation strategy and client services for indigent family law clients. She moved back into private practice leadership several years later, serving as a managing lawyer at Bailey & Galyen in 2017 and then as chief operating officer at JD Silva & Associates in 2018. In 2019 she became CEO of Boswell Law Office, a firm she leads today.
She holds board certification in family law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That credential marks a formal recognition of expertise in the field under Texas standards. It also reflects a long-running engagement with courtroom work and the substantive law that governs divorce, custody, support and protective orders.
Boswell-Loechel maintains memberships in the State Bar of Texas and in the Texas Association of Family Law Specialists, where she has been associated since 2015. Those affiliations place her in the professional networks that shape practice standards and continuing legal education for family law practitioners across the state.
Her career has included a mixture of client-side representation, nonprofit leadership, and law firm management. Colleagues describe a lawyer who moves easily between litigation and office administration, and who has experience guiding teams as well as representing individuals. Her resume shows steady progression from solo practice to leadership positions at larger practices and then to the chief executive role she holds now.
