About Douglas J.
Douglas J. Rose combines a varied academic background with decades in private practice and local government. He earned a B.A. in Fine Arts and Mathematics from Brown University, a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, and later completed an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance at Boston College. That sequence of study gave him both analytical training and a grounding in financial issues.
His legal career spans consultancy, private firms and municipal service. He has been a member of the Rhode Island State Bar since 1988, the Massachusetts State Bar since 1995, and the New York State Bar since 2001. He served as of counsel at Donovan & O Connor, LLP in 2001 and also established Rose Consultancy that same year, serving as President and Principal Legal Practitioner. In 2004 he joined Deily, Mooney & Glastetter, L.L.P. as a senior associate. He later moved into partnership at Tully Rinckey PLLC, where he is currently based.
Those roles reflect steady movement between advisory work and litigation-oriented private practice. Early consultancy work allowed him to handle discrete client projects and provide targeted legal advice. Firm positions added courtroom and transactional experience. Across those posts he has handled matters that require both legal analysis and familiarity with financial documentation.
Outside the office he has remained active in his community and in civic organizations. He has served on the Town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts Municipal Planning Board since 2000. He has been a member of the Stockbridge Republican Town Committee since 2001 and maintains membership at the United Methodist Church of Lenox, Massachusetts. These commitments intersect with his legal work when municipal land-use questions or local regulatory issues arise.
Colleagues describe his trajectory as one marked by an interest in public-sector questions and in advising private clients on matters that touch government processes. He has maintained bar memberships in three states for decades and brings that multi-jurisdictional perspective to client matters. At Tully Rinckey PLLC he shares responsibility for client files and mentors junior lawyers while managing his own caseload.
He is admitted in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York and practices at Tully Rinckey PLLC, where his work focuses on municipal and regulatory matters as well as legal consulting.
