Douglas B. Warlick is a seasoned family law attorney based in Geneva, Illinois, with over 35 years of experience in the field. Since 1981, he has been dedicated to providing comprehensive legal services in family law matters, including divorce, child custody. Support, across Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, and DuPage counties. Mr. Warlick began his legal career in Cook County, where he served as a conflicts attorney in the Juvenile Courts for over a decade, representing numerous parents and children. In 1982, he received training to handle domestic violence cases under the newly enacted Illinois Domestic Violence Act.
In 1989, he relocated to DuPage County, becoming actively involved in the DuPage County Bar Association as a volunteer legal aid attorney and serving as chair of both the Matrimonial Law Committee and the Children's Advocacy Committee. In 1999, Mr. Warlick moved his practice to Kane County, where he continued his solo practice until 2011. That year, he purchased and renovated the historic Hansen Baking Company building into his current law office. He later expanded his practice by hiring associate attorneys, including Colleen G. Thomas, who became affiliated as "of counsel" in 2015. Throughout his career, Mr.
Warlick has been deeply involved in professional organizations. He served as a director of the Kane County Bar Association and was the photographer for its publication, "Bar Briefs," for many years. He has also been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association's Assembly, representing the 16th Judicial Circuit. Served on the Family Law Section Council, the Bench and Bar Section Council, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Warlick has been recognized for his community service. He served as president of the Geneva Lions Club and as chairman of the "We Serve" Foundation, which assists residents locally and globally.
