About Doug
Doug Wright built his legal foundation in Texas. He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976 and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1979. Those years set the stage for a long career in law and civic involvement in the Tarrant County area.
After law school he entered practice in Texas. Over decades he combined courtroom work with roles outside private practice. His résumé shows involvement in both academic settings and community services, rather than a single track through litigation alone.
Wright has served as an adjunct professor at TCU’s law program, bringing practical perspective into the classroom. The record also lists experience as a social worker. That mix of teaching and social service has influenced how he approaches client matters and family-related disputes.
His association record spans local and state organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Young Lawyers Association from 1984 to 1986. Locally, he has been active in the Tarrant County Bar Association and the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association. He held the chairmanship of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Solo and Small Practice Section from 2007 to 2009. He is also listed as president of the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association and president of the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association.
That organizational involvement parallels his practice affiliations. Wright is listed with Bailey & Galyen Lawyers at Law. The firm affiliation recurs in public records and directories connected to his work in Tarrant County and the broader Texas legal community. His memberships also include the Texas Bar Foundation.
Wright’s path is practical and service-oriented. He has balanced teaching, bar leadership and client work across a long span of years. Today he practices at Bailey & Galyen Lawyers at Law, where his work centers on family law matters and related issues in Texas.
