About DJ
DJ Jeyaram graduated from Boston University in 1989 with a B.A. in International Relations and earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1994. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, California, Massachusetts and before the U.S. Supreme Court. The sequence of academic and bar milestones set the stage for a career that moves between public service, courtroom duties and private practice.
Early in his career he served as deputy director at the Georgia Department of Health in 1997. He then entered private practice and became a senior associate at Drew Eckl & Farnham in 2000. In 2001 he took a position as an administrative law judge at the Office of State Administrative Hearings. That stint on the bench was followed by a return to private practice, where he worked as a senior associate and healthcare lawyer at Morris, Manning & Martin in 2004.
In 2007 he established Jeyaram & Associates, where he took the title of principal. The firm lists itself as a practice devoted to healthcare and estate planning matters. Over time he combined experience from regulatory roles and litigation to advise clients on matters that often cross health care rules and individual planning needs.
He has also served in a judicial capacity at the local level. In 2016 he served as a magistrate in Gwinnett County Court. That role placed him in the county court system, handling a range of magistrate matters for the judicial district.
Jeyaram holds a certification in special needs estate planning under elder law. He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. Those include the Georgia Bar, the California State Bar and the Massachusetts State Bar. He is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and has participated in bar groups tied to Asian Pacific American lawyers.
Outside of the law firm he has contributed to nonprofit work. He is a former board member of FOCUS & Fragile Kids, an organization that serves children with special needs. His career reflects shifts between government service, judicial roles and private practice, shaped by regular engagement with health law and estate planning professionals.
He continues to lead Jeyaram & Associates | Healthcare & Estate Planning Lawyers, where he practices in areas that include health care law and estate planning, including special needs and elder-law related estate planning.
