Further enhancing her qualifications, she completed a Master of Public Accountancy from the University of South Dakota in 1986. Additionally, she offers guidance on Community Reinvestment Act issues, helping financial institutions navigate complex compliance landscapes. Before joining Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith in 1995, Hieb worked as a Certified Public Accountant at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. This experience in accounting has further enriched her understanding of financial regulations and compliance. Since 2018, she has served on the Governor’s Task Force on Trust Review and Reform, contributing her insights to important legislative discussions. Hieb has also received a Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished Peer Rating, evidence of her high professional achievement and ethical standards. Beyond her legal practice, Hieb is actively engaged in her community.

She serves as Chair of the Sioux Falls Board of Historic Preservation and is involved with the boards of Affordable Housing Solutions and the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. Her philanthropic efforts extend to organizations such as Volunteers of America, Dakotas; Ronald McDonald House Charities; and the South Dakota Bankers Foundation. A dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church, Hieb balances her professional commitments with family life. She and her husband, Glen, are proud parents of four adult children and have six grandchildren, reflecting her deep ties to both her community and family.
