About Diane P.
Diane P. Toscano built a legal path that began in politics and moved steadily into courtroom work. She earned a B.A. in political science from Meredith College in 2003, studied in the Foreign Policy Program at American University in 2002, and completed her J.D. at Regent University School of Law in 2006. Those years set the stage for a career that blends public service and private practice.
Her first position after law school was in the Commonwealth's Lawyer's Office for the City of Virginia Beach in 2006. That role gave her immediate exposure to courtroom procedures and local criminal practice. She later joined Abrons, Fasanaro, & Sceviour in 2009, then moved to Zoby, Broccoletti, and Normile, P.C. in 2011. Each step brought new case types and responsibilities.
In 2013 Toscano launched Toscano Law Group. She founded the firm to create a smaller, trial-minded practice that could respond directly to client needs. Her professional record includes both prosecutorial experience from her time at the Commonwealth’s office and court appointment work under a certification from the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. That combination has kept her in courtrooms across the region.
Toscano is admitted to practice in Virginia and to the Fourth Circuit. She has belonged to the Virginia Beach Bar Association and the Virginia Bar Association since 2006. Those memberships have kept her engaged with local and state legal communities and provided regular contact with colleagues handling a range of civil and criminal matters.
Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in litigation and careful in preparation. She has handled bench and jury trials and appears in both state and federal proceedings when cases require it. Her work often entails managing the practical details of trial practice—motion work, witness preparation, and courtroom strategy—while also advising clients on the consequences of different courses of action.
Today Toscano practices through Toscano Law Group. She continues to accept court appointments and litigates matters in Virginia courts and before the Fourth Circuit, concentrating her practice on trial and appellate litigation and court-appointed indigent defense.
