About Dennis
Dennis Chen built a legal career that began in the classroom and moved steadily into practice. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Florida in 1988 and returned there for a law degree, receiving his J.D. in 1994. The combination of analytical training and legal education shaped how he approaches problems and serves clients.
He began his early legal work as an associate at Morgan & Van Dingenen, PA in 1997. In that role he handled firm matters and learned day-to-day law office practice. The position exposed him to the operational side of client service and the routines of litigation and transactional work in a small firm setting.
In 2000 Chen moved in-house as a senior staff lawyer for Hartford Financial Services Group. Working inside a large insurance company gave him a different perspective. He encountered corporate processes, regulatory concerns and the kinds of contract and claims issues that arise in financial services. That experience broadened his view of how client objectives and business realities intersect.
A year later he launched his own practice. In 2001 Chen became owner-lawyer of Chen Law Office, PA. Running a solo firm required him to combine legal work with management tasks. He built a practice that serves clients in more than one state and manages the demands of private practice.
Chen is admitted to practice in both Florida and Texas. He has worked in firm, in-house and solo settings, and has carried the lessons from each into his current work. Clients see the result in a practice that blends legal analysis and practical problem solving. He continues to handle matters across the two jurisdictions from his office at Chen Law Office, PA.
He maintains his practice at Chen Law Office, PA, where he handles matters in both Texas and Florida.
