About Deepa
Deepa Menon came to law from a background in science and computing. She completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Queen's University in 1998, studying biology alongside computing and information science. That combination of disciplines left her comfortable with technical material and methodical analysis. It also set a different tone for her legal studies.
She earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law in 2005. During law school she served on law review, an experience that sharpened her research and writing skills. Those skills have informed the way she approaches problems and prepares arguments.
After graduating, Menon entered legal practice. Her undergraduate training continued to shape her work. She draws on scientific and technical literacy when handling matters that involve complex factual or data-driven questions. Her law review experience contributes to a careful, evidence-based approach to drafting and briefing.
Colleagues describe her style as precise and deliberate. She tends to break issues into discrete parts and to test each part against legal principles. That methodical approach shows in how she structures cases and in how she prepares clients for hearings and negotiations. She has experience in both written advocacy and oral argument, and she places emphasis on clear communication.
Outside formal litigation, Menon has participated in continuing legal education and professional discussions on the intersection of law and technology. She speaks comfortably about the ways that technical subject matter can change case strategy. Her background makes it easier for clients and opposing counsel to move past jargon and focus on the core legal questions.
Menon balances the analytical work of case preparation with attention to the practical side of resolving disputes. She prioritizes clarity in client communications and in court documents. As of 2026 she maintains a legal practice advising clients on a range of matters.
