About Dedrick
Dedrick Gordon began his academic path in education before turning to law. He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and completed his legal studies at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2007. Those years set the stage for a career that moves between courtroom work and client advocacy.
His early legal career included a stint as an associate at Nilson Stookal Gleason & Caputo, Ltd., where he joined the firm in 2013. He worked on litigation matters there and gained experience in case preparation, depositions and negotiations. Five years later he launched his own practice. In 2018 he became principal owner and lawyer at Gordon Injury Lawyers, P.C.
Gordon is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Louisiana. He maintains memberships in several professional organizations that reflect that geographic reach. He joined the Illinois State Bar Association and the Cook County Bar Association in 2013. He became a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association in 2018. In Louisiana, he joined the state bar in 2021 and became active in the Louisiana Association for Justice beginning in 2022.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in handling cases. He appears in state courts on matters that require careful factual development and focused legal arguments. His work has involved client interviews, medical record review and negotiations aimed at resolving claims. He is experienced in the routines of litigation and in the practical demands of running a small firm.
Gordon’s office is organized around the needs of injury claimants. The firm’s casework concentrates on personal injury matters, where the goal is to obtain recoveries for clients who have suffered loss. He balances trial preparation with efforts to achieve settlements when the facts and law support that route. He keeps active contacts in both Illinois and Louisiana legal communities, which informs how he approaches cases that cross state lines.
Today he leads Gordon Injury Lawyers, P.C. and continues to represent individuals in personal injury matters in both Illinois and Louisiana. His current practice focuses on personal injury claims handled through his firm.
