About Ebony S.
Ebony S. Morris built a legal foundation that began in southeastern Louisiana. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2011. Three years later she completed her J.D. at Southern University Law Center, where she also served as Articles Editor for the Southern University Law Review in 2013.
While still in law school, Morris sought courtroom experience. In 2013 she worked as a law clerk in Division A of Baton Rouge City Court. The following year she served as a legal extern for The Honorable Chief Judge Brian A. Jackson at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Those early roles exposed her to trial procedures and federal court practices.
Morris moved into private practice after law school. Her first positions were at Louisiana firms where she rotated through litigation matters and client work. In 2014 she joined Forman Watkins Krutz & Tardy LLP. She spent 2015 at Maron Marvel Bradley Anderson & Tardy LLC and later worked at Garrison, Yount, Forte & Mulcahy, L.L.C. in 2017. These years included courtroom appearances and drafting for trial preparation, and they helped her develop practical skills across a range of civil matters.
She continued to broaden her practice in larger firm settings. In 2022 Morris joined Phelps Dunbar LLP as a lawyer, and in 2023 she began work at Foley Mansfield. She is licensed to practice in Louisiana and holds memberships in the New Orleans Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and comfortable handling procedural work in both state and federal matters.
Morris’s path reflects steady progression rather than rapid shifts. She combined scholarly work at law review with court-side experience and a series of law firm roles that expanded her responsibilities. Today she practices law in Louisiana at Foley & Mansfield PLLP, where she continues her firm-based legal work.
