About David Y.
David Y. Eberspacher has practiced law for decades after receiving his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1978. He began his legal career at a time when litigation and transactional practice were evolving in the Midwest. That era shaped a practical approach to casework and client service that has carried through his career.
After law school he entered private practice and over the years became associated with Tapella & Eberspacher LLC. His association with the firm has anchored his career and ties him to the St. Louis metro legal community. Colleagues describe him as steady and precise in his legal work. He has worked through periods of change in the profession and adapted to new rules and procedures as they emerged.
Eberspacher’s career covers a long span. He has represented clients in matters handled from the firm’s offices in the St. Louis area and O’Fallon, Illinois. That geographic footprint has influenced the types of matters he handles and the clients he serves. He has experience in courtroom practice, client advising, and case management that comes from years in private practice.
Throughout his time at the firm, Eberspacher has handled both litigation and transactional matters appropriate to a regional general practice. He is comfortable in the courtroom and in depositions, but also spends time on the written work that underpins disputes and deals. His work often involves coordinating with other lawyers and with clients to shape strategy and manage expectations.
Outside of direct casework, Eberspacher has been part of the day-to-day operations at Tapella & Eberspacher LLC. Managing client relationships, supervising staff, and mentoring younger attorneys have all been part of his professional routine. He has seen the firm grow and change and has been a consistent presence through those shifts.
Today he remains active in private practice and maintains offices that serve the St. Louis metropolitan area, including an office in O’Fallon, Illinois. He continues to take on matters for clients in that region and allocates his time between the firm’s local offices. He currently divides his practice between the O’Fallon, Illinois office and the firm’s St. Louis-area locations, handling legal matters for clients across that region.
