About David W.
David W. Rowe came to law after a broad academic path that began in the social sciences. He studied experimental psychology at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville, attended Davidson College, and earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. That mix of empirical training and traditional legal study shaped the way he evaluates facts and frames arguments.
Rowe’s professional life has been centered at a single firm for much of his career. He joined Kinsey Rowe Becker & Kistler, LLP and became a partner in 1991. Over the years he has remained at the firm, taking on responsibilities that accompany a long-tenured partner: mentoring younger lawyers, managing client relationships, and participating in the firm’s internal governance.
Colleagues describe him as steady and methodical in his work. He approaches matters with an attention to detail that reflects both his legal training and his earlier studies in psychology. That combination often shows in how he prepares cases, organizes documentary evidence and communicates complex legal ideas to clients who do not practice law.
Rowe’s education at the University of Michigan Law School placed him in a rigorous academic environment. The law school’s curriculum and clinical opportunities provided practical skills that he carried into private practice. Before law school he concentrated on experimental psychology, a discipline that emphasizes careful study design and critical analysis. He also spent time at Davidson College during his undergraduate years.
Practically, Rowe’s day-to-day work has involved advising clients, negotiating solutions and handling contested matters when they arise. He has handled matters that required both courtroom presence and transactional judgment. Over three decades in practice he has accumulated institutional knowledge about managing long-term client matters and the operational demands of a midsize law firm.
Outside the office he has continued an interest in how people make decisions under pressure, an interest rooted in his early academic work. That perspective can inform client counseling and trial preparation alike. He remains an active partner at Kinsey Rowe Becker & Kistler, LLP. He currently practices law at Kinsey Rowe Becker & Kistler, LLP.
