About David T.
David T. Podein graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008. He moved from the classroom to the courtroom quickly, entering private practice soon after finishing law school. Those formative years shaped the practical side of his approach to legal work.
He became a partner at Haber Law in 2009. That early partnership placed him squarely in the day-to-day business of a law firm, where client intake, case preparation and courtroom advocacy are constant. Over time he has balanced the managerial demands of partnership with the work of representing clients in court.
Podein is authorized to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He holds current membership in The Florida Bar and maintains ties to the local legal community through the Miami-Dade County Bar Association. He also serves on the University of Miami School of Law Young Alumni Committee, maintaining a connection to his law school through alumni engagement and events.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing papers and steady under pressure. He approaches files by breaking problems into discrete steps, then addresses each one in sequence. Clients see the result in depositions and hearings where preparation meets practice. He spends time in both state and federal court dockets and is comfortable moving between them when a case requires it.
Outside the courtroom he has remained involved with his alma mater. His work with the Young Alumni Committee keeps him linked to emerging trends in legal education and to students finishing their own studies. In the local bar association he participates alongside other practitioners in discussions that shape professional standards and local practice norms.
The professional path that began with degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Miami has been steady. He expanded responsibility early in his career and continued to practice in Florida courts and the Southern District of Florida. He currently handles federal and state court matters in Florida.
